Shrewsbury BID work for and represent over 500 members in Shrewsbury, delivering innovative projects to support and enhance the town centre.
While Covid-19 hit Shrewsbury BID supported businesses through the crisis. One of the ways they did this was to create an e-commerce site that allowed people to still shop at their favourite local business whilst the shops were closed. It was a free service for all shops in the town centre to help with their cash flow.
When the town was allowed to reopen Shrewsbury BID made sure that it was a welcoming atmosphere with a fun festival vibe by creating a campaign to celebrate. This was coherent through the town centre shops, cafes and other businesses. It included alfresco dining, more pedestrian space, a doorstep photoshoot and the installation of banners and flags around the town welcoming everyone back.
The banners have now all changed (although the festival vibe is still going!) and so with the old ones no longer in use they were destined for landfill. Instead, Shrewsbury BID decided to give us the fabric, we have now made it into the handbags you seen on our website and 10% of proceeds go to Severn Hospice.

And we still have plenty more fabric still to be sewn! So, keep an eye on our website for new products, alternatively if you love the fabric but would like a different product made then please get in touch!
